Società Italiana di Anetesia Rianimazione Emergenza e Dolore

S.I.A.R.E.D. (Italian Society of Anaesthesia, Resuscitation, Emergency and Pain) was founded in 2003 as the scientific support of A.A.R.O.I. (Italian Association of Hospital Anaesthesiologists and Physicians of Intensive Care), which is the trade union of the Italian anaesthesiologists and physicians of intensive care (both emergency physicians or resuscitation physician).

The society aims to support and organize studies and research in the field of Anaesthesia and Resuscitation, Pain Management, Palliative Treatment, Hyperbaric Therapy, Emergency and Critical Care, both in Italy and abroad. SIARED promotes professional updating and its aim is to bring the training also to the peripheral hospitals. The Society works in cooperation with other Associations and Scientific Societies and takes part to common projects. It supports clinical surveys with the aim of taking into account some primary fields of our work, in order to improve the assistance and the care of the patients.     

Since its foundation, SIARED has paid much attention to the training of its members, encouraging itinerant updating courses.

Over time, the methods of professional updating evolved without changing the inspiring philosophy. Thus, both practical and theoretical courses have been carried on, and recently also online courses have been started. A National Conference is held once a year, and it represents an important moment of scientific discussion.
